Walter E. Justus



Mr. Walter E. "Walt" Justus, fourth generation president of the Justus Companies (est. in 1910), has guided the daily operations and management of the company since 1987. Mr. Justus is a principal in all of the company owned partnerships, and personally supervises the direction of each of the departments, including Property/Asset Management and Construction. He oversees the financing, development and construction of numerous multi-family apartments, and senior living developments in Indiana.


Angela Miller

Vice President of Operations


As Vice President of Operations Angela Miller leads and directs the operations of Justus Rental Properties through strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency.


Ms. Miller previously served as Executive Director of Crestwood Village West. Angela has an extensive background in operations, marketing, strategic planning, human resources, quality services, and event planning in both for–profit business and not-for-profit organizations. Ms. Miller began her career as a licensed Health Facility Administer in California and Indiana. She holds a bachelors degree from the University of Evansville, and obtained her master’s degree in business from Indiana Wesleyan University.



Suzanne Thomson

Vice President


In her role as Vice President of the Justus Companies, Inc., Suzanne Thomson oversees the design, development, and construction of new apartment communities. Her multifamily portfolio includes conventional, tax credit, and senior apartments.  Suzanne began her tenure at the Justus Companies as the Director of Marketing, moving to Vice President of Corporate Communications, and on to her current position where she brings a unique marketing and resident-centric perspective to the Justus Development and Construction team.

Ms. Thomson has been in the multifamily housing industry for over 15 years, most of which she has specialized in senior housing. Suzanne is a National Apartment Association Education Institute faculty member, a certified trainer, winner of multiple Indiana Apartment Association Prodigy Awards, and Indiana Apartment Association Volunteer of the Year.

When she’s not working, Suzanne enjoys writing, reading, yoga, and time spent with family.




John Wright CPA

Chief Financial Officer


John Wright holds a BSBA degree in accounting from Xavier University, and has over 30 years experience in management, accounting, tax, treasury, and risk management. His experience includes six years as Controller in commercial retail, office and residential real estate in the Cincinnati area and six years as Controller in the manufacturing industry. Mr. Wright also served six years as Vice President of Operations for an Indianapolis-based medical and dental supplier, and has fourteen years of experience as Finance Manager overseeing accounting operations, including tax and treasury finance matters, within the software industry.
