Walt Justus

President/Chief Executive Officer

Walter E. “Walt” Justus is the fourth-generation President and Chief Executive Officer of The Justus Companies, a privately held real estate development, construction, and property management firm founded in Indianapolis in 1910. Since assuming leadership in 1987, Walt has guided the company’s growth while honoring the values and entrepreneurial spirit established by previous generations of the Justus family.

Under his leadership, The Justus Companies has developed, acquired, and managed a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, mixed-use, and senior living communities throughout Indiana and Missouri. As a principal in the company’s ownership entities, he provides strategic direction for development, construction, asset management, and operations.

Known for his long-term perspective and commitment to quality, Walt has successfully navigated multiple real estate cycles while maintaining a focus on strengthening communities. He also supports numerous charitable initiatives, including Family Promise, and previously served on the board of Overdose Lifeline.

Angela Miller

Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Angela Miller serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Justus Companies, providing strategic leadership across real estate development, property management, human resources, information technology, marketing and communications, and corporate operations.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience, Angela works closely with the development team to identify, evaluate, and launch new communities. Additionally, she provides operational leadership throughout the planning, construction, and startup phases of development projects. She is passionate about building high-performing teams, creating exceptional customer experiences, and supporting the company’s long-term growth and success. Prior to joining The Justus Companies, Angela held senior leadership positions in regional organizations and an international nonprofit, following earlier roles in marketing and healthcare management.

Jillian Justus-Foran

Executive Associate

Jillian Justus-Foran is the Executive Assistant to Walt Justus. Jillian participates in all aspects of senior living and multifamily development and construction at The Justus Companies, in addition to acquisitions. Working previously in communications as well as accounting, Jillian has been with The Justus Companies for the last 10 years. Jillian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Time-Based Media from Purdue University.

Sarah Crist

Vice President of Business Development

Sarah Crist leads strategic growth initiatives across marketing, leasing performance, and resident retention for senior living and conventional communities. She develops and executes strategies to increase occupancy, strengthen brand positioning, and support long-term organizational growth. Sarah collaborates with regional and community leadership teams to enhance leasing execution, improve customer experience, and align operational performance with company goals. She develops external partnerships and market strategies that generate consistent referrals and support long-term occupancy growth.

Sarah has been with The Justus Companies for 20 years. Sarah was previously the Administrator of Freedom Senior Services and the Executive Director at Crestwood Village West and South campuses. Sarah has her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in Applied Gerontology from Ball State University.

Patrick Singleton

Regional Director of Operations

Patrick Singleton oversees operations for senior living, multifamily, and commercial properties. With nearly 15 years of experience at The Justus Companies, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Operations Coordinator, Executive Director, and Regional Director of Operations. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree from Wabash College and previously held both Residential Care Facility Administrator and Indiana Real Estate Broker licenses. His experience spans property operations, team leadership, resident services, asset performance, and strategic portfolio management.

Ryan Skinner

Regional Director of Operations

Ryan Skinner oversees and assists senior living and conventional properties in an operations management capacity. Ryan has been with The Justus Companies for more than 7 years. He has management experience in Medical Adult Daycare, Non-Medical Homecare, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and Assisted Living. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and has his Residential Care Facility Administrator License.

Matthew Phillips

Regional Director of Maintenance

Matthew Phillips is an experienced maintenance professional with extensive expertise in apartment communities, building systems, and property operations. Throughout his career, he has developed a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool operations, and general maintenance, helping to ensure residents receive exceptional service while maintaining high standards of property performance. Known for his problem-solving abilities and hands-on leadership approach, Matthew is committed to creating safe, well-maintained communities and delivering outstanding customer service. His practical knowledge, attention to detail, and dedication to operational excellence make him a valued member of The Justus Companies team.

Sara Walsh

Director of Corporate Communications

Sara Walsh is responsible for the creative communications elements of The Justus Companies, including brand development, advertising, social media, websites, and other marketing channels. Sara also supports the Construction & Development Team with the interior design of residential and commercial spaces, including remodeling projects and new construction. Sara brings unique and effective solutions to increase occupancy and support resident retention. Sara received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in visual communications and has more than 15 years of experience in agency, corporate, and nonprofit environments.

Shante Warren, SHRM-CP, PHR

Director of Human Resources

Shante Warren is responsible for leading The Justus Companies’ human resources programs and initiatives. She oversees talent acquisition management, compensation and benefits, and rewards and recognition—working to expand The Justus Companies’ culture to become an employer of choice. Shante has been with the Justus family for more than 20 years serving in various roles including Administrative Assistant, Assistant Director, and Executive Director of several of our senior communities, in addition to HR Generalist and Director of Human Resources. Shante holds a bachelor’s degree from IU Kelley School of Business. She also holds a Professional Human Resource certification (PHR) and is a SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

Shannon Burk

Regional Lifestyle Director

Shannon Burk is dedicated to creating engaging experiences that enrich the lives of residents across multiple 55+ senior living communities. She oversees planning and execution of monthly lifestyle events, ensuring each community offers meaningful opportunities for connection, entertainment, and personal growth. In addition to event programming, Shannon leads community wellness initiatives, promoting healthy, active lifestyles through innovative fitness and wellness programs designed to support residents’ physical, social, and emotional well-being. With a passion for resident engagement, wellness, and philanthropy, Shannon is committed to creating a vibrant community where residents feel connected, empowered, and at home.

Wayne Jones

Director of Information Technology

Wayne Jones has more than 30 years of experience in information technology. Since joining The Justus Companies in 2003, he has evolved from the company’s original “IT Guy” into a key leader responsible for technology operations across the organization. Wayne oversees more than 200 computers and more than 20 physical and virtual servers while managing networks, security systems, help desk support, and website development. He received his college education in the United Kingdom before relocating to the United States, where he continues to support the technology needs of The Justus Companies.

Brenda Gallo

Executive Assistant

Brenda Gallo assists the Justus family and is also responsible for handling The Justus Companies’ insurance programs, corporate legal issues, worker’s compensation benefits, and various other accounting functions. Brenda joined the Justus family in 1984 while located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and relocated to the corporate office in Indiana where she celebrates more than 40 years with The Justus Companies.

John Hardwick

IT Support Specialist

John Hardwick brings more than 15 years of experience supporting technology systems and end users across a variety of IT environments. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University and has expertise in systems administration, help desk support, network troubleshooting, and mobile device management. John plays a key role in maintaining reliable technology operations, supporting hardware and software systems, and ensuring employees have the tools they need to succeed. Known for his technical expertise, problem-solving mindset, and responsive support, he helps keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.

Mark Myers

Vice President of Justus Construction

Mark Myers serves as Vice President of Justus Construction, providing leadership for all construction and development projects. Mark manages a portfolio of complex initiatives for multiple projects. He oversees all project life cycles to ensure successful delivery in accordance with the overall corporate strategic objectives. Mark attributes his 35 years of success in the construction industry to receiving a strong technical education from true professionals in the trades, as well as several well-seasoned leadership mentors along the way. Mark and his wife, Elizabeth, enjoy spending time with their 5 children and 4 grandchildren.

Dylan Foran

Project Manager

Dylan Foran is responsible for project management of multifamily housing projects as well as the remodeling and renovation of current properties. This includes controlling budgets, negotiating subcontracts, and communicating with the project team to ensure jobs remain safe, on schedule, and within budget. Dylan also oversees The Justus Companies’ Procore Construction management software and documents construction progress utilizing drone technology. Outside of work, Dylan enjoys traveling with his wife and tinkering with cars. Dylan graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in professional flight technology and a minor in organizational leadership.

Christopher Egan

Director of Finance

Christopher Egan has more than 20 years of financial experience in the real estate industry including five years with Ernst & Young and eight years in senior living property management. His experience includes HUD/FHA financing, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and REIT structures. He provides accurate financial reporting for the executive team, leads financial strategy and planning, and identifies accounting system and process improvements. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Kelly Harmon

Senior Trust Accountant

Kelly Harmon celebrates more than 30 years with The Justus Companies and is responsible for the accounting, financial statements, and accounts payable for all Justus Trust properties. She also oversees the property management software for all communities. Kelly has experience in bookkeeping and accounting, in addition to extensive education from IUPUI in mathematics and accounting.

Allen Sigler

Assistant Controller

Allen Sigler supports the accuracy and integrity of financial information, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and provides insights to support business decisions. He has experience in financial reporting, internal controls, audit coordination, budgeting, lender reporting, and financial analysis. He works closely with the Operations and Construction & Development teams to strengthen financial processes, maintain effective controls, and support organizational objectives. Allen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jenny Oldham

Project Accountant

Jenny Oldham has been a valued member of The Justus Companies team for more than 13 years, supporting financial operations across several managed communities through accounts payable processing. She brings a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy that helps ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Jenny earned a Bachelor of Science in General Studies from Indiana University and brings additional professional experience from both the banking and manufacturing industries.

Christina Phillips

Accounts Payable Specialist

Christina Phillips is responsible for processing accounts payable for Crestwood Village North, Crestwood Village South, Promenade Office Park, 51 Main, Canal Overlook, and Promenade Trails. Since joining The Justus Companies in 2018, Christina has played an important role in ensuring timely and accurate payment processing, as well as supporting the day-to-day financial operations of multiple communities and properties. She attended IUPUI and is known for her organization, attention to detail, and commitment to providing dependable support to both internal teams and vendor partners.
